I have been working artistically since the nineties as a musician/composer (details on "Music" page).
For some years, photographic language accompanied the musical one until I realized that music had become a self-imposed duty. The decision to dedicate myself exclusively to photography opened new paths for my creative expression.
I found myself gradually narrowing my range of action to the areas of Piacenza, Parma, Cremona and Lodi, mainly near the Po River, preferring places with low population density, feeling almost unauthorized to stray too far, perhaps in search of a sense of belonging to places I have inhabited, but never lived and loved.
In this apparent banality, I found the atmosphere and aesthetics of my artistic / interior journey.
In parallel, my style also underwent a sort of self-retraction, confining itself to black and white and square format, a necessary simplification to be able to concentrate on the essence of the shapes.
All the images are the result of a careful compositional choice during the shooting phase: even if in some cases they may seem like collages, they are always single square photographs.
